Warvin Organization for Child Rights is a community-based, non-governmental, non-profit organization based in Sinjar, Iraq. We are dedicated to protecting children's rights by providing trauma-informed psychosocial support, quality education, child protection, and community-based programmes that help children affected by conflict and displacement heal, learn, grow and thrive.

The name "Warvin" comes from the Kurdish language and means "a place of tenderness." It represents a safe, caring, and nurturing environment where children are protected, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Warvin currently works in Sinjar, Nineveh Governorate, Iraq, supporting children, families, educators, and communities affected by conflict, displacement, and trauma. We aim to expand our programmes to other communities in the future.

Community awareness

Emergency Pedagogy is an educational approach designed to support children affected by crises, conflict, disasters, and displacement. Through play, movement, creative arts, storytelling, and structured activities, it helps children regain emotional stability, resilience, and readiness to learn.

Trauma Pedagogy is an educational approach that recognizes how traumatic experiences affect children's learning, behaviour and emotional well-being. It focuses on creating safe, supportive, and predictable environments that promote healing, resilience and healthy development.

Our programmes are designed primarily for children affected by conflict, displacement, trauma, poverty, and other forms of vulnerability. We also work closely with parents, caregivers, educators, and communities to strengthen children's well-being and development.

Yes. our programmes are provided free of charge to eligible children and families through the generous support of our donors and partners.

When registration is open, information is shared through community announcements, and official communication channels. You can also contact us directly to learn about current and upcoming programmes.

The safety and well-being of every child is our highest priority. Warvin implements child safeguarding measures and follows a Child Safeguarding Policy to protect children from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and harm while participating in our programmes.

Psychosocial support helps children strengthen their emotional, social, and psychological well-being. Through play, movement, creative arts, storytelling, music, and positive relationships, children develop resilience, confidence, coping skills, and a sense of safety.

Warvin combines Emergency Pedagogy, Trauma Pedagogy, trauma-informed psychosocial support, and Waldorf-inspired educational approaches to create safe and nurturing environments where children can process difficult experiences, rebuild resilience, restore emotional well-being, and regain confidence.
